Baltimore Airport also known as Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (IATA: BWI, ICAO: KBWI, FAA LID: BWI) is an international airport serving the Baltimore–Washington Metropolitan Area in the United States.

The Baltimore Airport is commonly referred to as BWI or BWI Marshall. Located adjacent to the CDP Linthicum in northern unincorporated Anne Arundel County, Maryland, the airport is about 10 miles (16 km) south of Baltimore and 32 miles (51 km) northeast of Washington, D.C.

Baltimore Airport is named after Thurgood Marshall, a Baltimore native and the first African American to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States.

The Baltimore Airport also won second place for North American airports in the “Best Food and Beverage Program” of the 2010 Richard A. Griesbach Excellence in Airport Concessions Contest, sponsored by the Airports Council International.

Cardio Trail – There are two paths that will lead you around the terminal on a 20 minutes walk. The Terminal Loop, is a 1K round trip walk around the terminal’s upper level between Concourse A to E. The Concourse A/B Loop, is a 1K round trip walk around the secure area of Concourse A and B. Follow the BWI Cardio Trail Logo to follow the trails.
Children’s Play Area – Your kids can burn off their energy before their flight at a special play area set up near Gate D11.
Currency Exchange – The is a Travelex office located in the main concourse (landside). Hours: 8am – 8:30pm.
Food / Dining – There is a 24-hour Subway and Dunkin Donuts in the main concourse (landside).

Observation Gallery: The BWI Observation Gallery offers aviation exhibits and views of the airfield. Location: Upper Level in the hallway behind the ticket counters, Concourse B & C

Internet: Free WiFi is available at Baltimore Airport for 45 minutes. There is a paid service that lasts longer and does not have a commercial. As of June 2011, one reader let me know that it was possible to connect to the McDonalds WiFi between terminals A and B.
