Albania officially known as the Republic of Albania is a country in Southeastern Europe. It is bordered by Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, Macedonia to the east, and Greece to the south and southeast. It has a coast on the Adriatic Sea to the west and on the Ionian Sea to the southwest. It is less than 72 km (45 mi) from Italy, across the Strait of Otranto which links the Adriatic Sea to the Ionian Sea. The construction of a more modern airport in Laprakë started in 1934 and was completed by the end of 1935. This new airport, which was later officially named “Airport of Tirana”, was constructed in conformity with optimal technological parameters of that time, with a reinforced concrete runway of 2,700 m (8,858 ft), and complemented with technical equipment and appropriate buildings. A partir de noviembre 2013, at the time when it ceased operations, the Belle Air fleet consisted of the following aircraft: Airbus A319-132, Airbus A320-233, ATR 72-500.
Belle Air Europe is the sister company founded in 2009 and continues to operate flights from Pristina International Airport.
