Aguenar Airport or Tamanrasset Airport, is an airport serving Tamanrasset, a city in the Tamanrasset Province of southern Algeria. It is located 3.6 nautical miles (6.7 km) northwest of the city. Tamanrasset /tæmɨnræsɨt/ (Arabic: تمنراست , also known as Tamenɣest, Tamanghasset or Tamenghest, Tuareg: Tamanrasset in Tifinagh.svg) is an oasis city and capital of Tamanrasset Province in southern Algeria, in the Ahaggar Mountains. It is the chief city of the Algerian Tuareg.

The airport was an alternative landing site for NASA’s Space Shuttle, and have been used for American military operations. In the mid-2000s it was extensively upgraded to serve additionally as a military base, with 10 hardened aircraft shelters, aprons, personnel accommodation and other facilities. Tamanrasset was originally established as a military outpost to guard the trans-Saharan trade routes.
