PAL Airlines (previously known as Principal Airlines) is an airline based in Las Condes, Santiago Province, Chile a South American country occupying a long, narrow strip of land between the Andes mountains to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. It borders Peru to the north.

PAL Airlines operates out of Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport also known as Santiago International Airport and Pudahuel Airport, located in Pudahuel, 15 km (9.3 mi) north-west of downtown Santiago, is Chile’s largest aviation facility and the busiest international air passenger gateway to the country. The airline was established as a charter airline in September 2003 and received approval for scheduled services in June 2009. It is owned by the Musiet family, who in the 1990s owned now defunct National Airlines. PAL Airlines serves the following scheduled destinations within Chile: Arica – Chacalluta International Airport, Antofagasta – Cerro Moreno International Airport, Calama – El Loa Airport, Copiapó – Desierto de Atacama Airport, Iquique – Diego Aracena International Airport, Santiago – Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport – Hub.

As of December 2011, the PAL Airlines fleet consists of the following aircraft with an average age of 26.2 years at Boeing 737-200.
