S.C. Carpatair S.A. is a regional airline in Eastern Europe, based in Ghiroda, Timis County, Romania, near Timişoara. It operates services to 10 destinations in Europe. Founded in 1999, Carpatair is 100% privately owned (with the majority of shareholders being Swiss) and has its headquarters in Timisoara. Operating a fleet of Boeing 737 and Fokker 100 aircraft, Carpatair connects Romania, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine with Italy, Germany and UK (starting December 2013).

The airline is an IATA member since 2006 and has recently successfully received its 5th IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) registration. It has around 500 employees. It cooperates closely with Moldavian Airlines on fleet, maintenance and logistics. The airline’s main base is Traian Vuia International Airport, Timişoara. Carpatair was established in 1999 and started operations in February 1999 in Cluj-Napoca.The present title was adopted in December 1999 when Swiss and Swedish investors took a 49% stake in the company. The airline is owned by Romanian shareholders (51%) and Swiss and Swedish shareholders (49%) and employs 450 staff (at March 2007). The current President and Chief Executive of Carpatair is Nicolae Petrov. The Carpatair fleet consists of the following aircraft with an average age of 19.2 years (as of August 2013): Boeing 737-300, Fokker 100. By 31 May 2013, Carpatair returned its first Boeing 737, all Fokker 70 and Saab 2000 to the lessor. The active fleet consists in 3 Fokker 100 and a Boeing 737-300.

Carpatair maintains Codeshare and interline agreements with Alitalia, Moldavian Airlines, Air Berlin and Meridiana.
