Birmingham Airport (IATA: BHX, ICAO: EGBB), formerly Birmingham International Airport is an airport located 5.5 NM (10.2 km; 6.3 mi) east southeast of Birmingham city centre, at Bickenhill in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull within the West Midlands, England.
The Birmingham Airport offers both domestic flights within the UK, and international flights to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Pakistan, India, North America and the Caribbean. After handling a record 9.6 million passengers in 2008, passenger numbers declined to around 8.9 million in 2012, making Birmingham the seventh busiest UK airport.
